An expatriate visa is a visa that allows companies to temporarily relocate qualified employees to Canada. This focuses on improving management efficiency within the company, expanding Canadian exports, and strengthening overseas market competitiveness. Therefore, qualification requirements for expatriates dispatched to Canada are also required. The entry of expatriates into Canada is governed by the general provisions of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, supplemented by provisions contained in international trade agreements for citizens of signatory countries. Expatriates require a Canadian Work Permit and are exempt from the Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) because they provide significant economic benefit to Canada by transferring expertise to Canadian companies. This applies to foreign nationals from all countries, including the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS). In order for a Korean corporation to enter Canada or successfully carry out its headquarters project, it must dispatch senior manager-level employees and experts from the headquarters.
