Express Entry category based selection has expanded from 6 to 10 categories.
In particular, the key point is that we have designated each person with Canadian experience.

Main Point Summary
Add four Express Entry categories
Separate Canadian Experience Holders

The four newly introduced categories are:
1. Physicians with Canadian work experience
2. Senior managers with Canadian work experience
3. Researchers with Canadian work experience
4. Skilled military recruits

Here are six categories of existing Express Entry.
1. French-language proficiency
2. Healthcare and social services occupations
3. Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) occupations
4. Trade occupations
5. Education occupations
6. Transport occupations

This expansion signals more than a numerical change. It reflects a structural shift toward prioritizing Canadian work experience within targeted category based draws.

While CRS remains the ranking mechanism, selection is increasingly curated through occupation specific and experience driven invitations rather than broad all program draws.

If you are in the Express Entry pool, reassessing your eligibility under these new categories is essential. Strategic alignment of your Canadian experience and NOC positioning may directly impact your ITA prospects.

Express Entry is evolving beyond score competition into targeted selection.
