Express Entry
Starting January 1, 2015, Express Entry is the new selection system for Canadian immigration, designed to select skilled workers for immigration to Canada.

Express Entry will allow the applications of skilled workers to be processed more quickly and efficiently.

One of the main goals of Canadian immigration is to welcome skilled newcomers who will contribute to Canada’s growing economy.

Skilled workers who settle in Canada on a permanent basis are especially valuable to Canada’s economy and the strength of its workforce.

Successful applicants of the Skilled Worker Immigration programs which are Federal skilled worker, Federal Skilled Trade program, and Canadian Experience Class, will receive a permanent resident visa within 6 months.

Eligibility requirements for FSW (Federal Skilled Worker)

Minimum of 1 year (1,560 hours total / 30 hours per week) of work experience within the last 10 years.

Experience of at least 1 year in one of the skilled occupations (NOC skill levels 0, 1, 2, 3) can be recognized as qualifying experience.

Minimum CLB 7 (Canadian Language Benchmark) or higher English language proficiency score.

Eligibility requirements for FSTP (Federal Skilled Trades Program)

Minimum of 2 years of work experience within the last 5 years.

Experience in NOC codes (Major group 72, 73, 82, 83, 92, 93 (excluding 932), or Minor group 6320, or Unit group 62200) can be recognized as qualifying experience.

Obtain a job offer from an employer based on an LMIA/LMO for at least 1 year, or receive certification related to skilled trade from the Canadian immigration or provincial government.

English language proficiency scores of at least 5 in Speaking and Listening, and at least 4 in Reading and Writing according to the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) standards.

Minimum of 1 year of Canadian work experience within the last 3 years.
