Permanent Residency

Invited Immigration
Invited Immigration
Canada's invitation immigration program can be broadly divided into two categories. The first is to invite spouses and children, and the second is to invite parents and grandparents. The invitation method is similar, but in order to invite, the inviter must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and meet other necessary qualifications.

Spouse and Children Invitation Process

The process for inviting spouses and children can be broadly divided into two.

  • Invitee applies for sponsorship
  • The invited spouse or child applies for permanent residency.

Inside Canada (Inside Invitation)

Inside Spouse Sponsorship can be applied for when the sponsor resides in Canada with his or her spouse. It was generally known that the inside process was slower than the outside, but these days, the check-in time is similarly fast for both the inside and outside, so the check-in period can be considered similar. Additionally, if you proceed with an inside invitation, you have the advantage of being able to apply for a work permit so that your spouse living in Canada can legally work in Canada while waiting for permanent residency.

Outside Canada (Outside Invitation)

Outside spouse sponsorship can be applied if the sponsor and spouse do not reside in Canada.

Parents and Grandparents Invited

Sponsoring parents and grandparents has a slightly different process than sponsoring spouses and children. In the parent and grandparent invitation process, if a sponsor applies for a lottery and receives an invitation in the annual invitation lottery, he or she can apply to invite parents and apply for permanent residency. After receiving an invitation in the lottery, you can apply for sponsorship for the inviter and apply for permanent residency for the invited parents in the same way as the spouse and child invitation process.
